glimesh.tv
Glimesh is a next generation live streaming platform built by the community, for the community.
Why revive it
Unlike alternatives, Glimesh attempted to build a community-centered alternative to centralized live-streaming platforms, which unlike most self-hosting projects, was looking forward to provide the complete platform including things such as: channels, creator discovery, follows, chat, subscriptions, donations, moderation, and community.
Revival goal
Create a new Glimesh that's secure, maintainable, modern and deployable. That as the original operates as a whole open-source live-streaming platform.
Status
The maintainers have explicitly stopped or clearly walked away.
Why it was abandoned
Even though the official announcement is no longer available. It can be inferred that it was a combination of multiple factors, including: limited funding, economic losses, volunteer dependency, failure at achieving necessary growth, etc. Also, it was reported that the founder could no longer work full-time on the project.
