Terms of service

The rules for using OSS Graveyard and contributing to it.

Last updated

By using OSS Graveyard you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The service

OSS Graveyard is a free, community-maintained catalogue of dormant open-source projects and the efforts to revive them. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.

Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
  • Keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not impersonate others or create accounts to evade moderation.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account page.

Your contributions

  • You keep any rights you have in what you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt (for example to fix formatting or correct facts) and distribute your submissions as part of the catalogue and its public API, including after you delete your account.
  • Submit only information you believe is accurate, and follow the submission guidelines.
  • Moderators review every submission and may edit, reject or remove any content at their discretion, without notice.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • post spam, advertising, malware, or links intended to deceive;
  • harass, threaten or defame anyone, including project maintainers;
  • post content that is illegal or infringes someone else's rights;
  • disrupt the site, probe it beyond the scope in our security policy, or scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others (use the JSON API instead);
  • try to access accounts or data that are not yours.

We may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.

Third-party projects and links

Projects and revivals listed here belong to their authors and are subject to their own licences. Listing does not mean we endorse, audit or support them. Links go to sites we do not control. Repository statistics are fetched automatically and may be out of date.

No warranty

The site and its content are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Information may be incomplete or wrong; check the original sources before relying on it. See our methodology for how entries are reviewed.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the site or of projects listed on it.

Content concerns

If something on the site is wrong, use “Report a problem” on the project page. If you believe content infringes your rights, or you are a maintainer who wants a listing changed or removed, contact us.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
