Why revive it
Unlike other Django based e-commerce platforms. Shuup was unique because of: its multi-vendor model which was made for marketplace and multiple suppliers, being an entire application rather than just commerce primitives compared to current alternatives which are mostly headless, and attempting to be highly extensible yet polished.
Revival goal
Bring back Shuup while focusing on what made it special (multi-vendor marketplace, complete polished application, extensibility, etc.).
Status
The maintainers have explicitly stopped or clearly walked away.
Why it was abandoned
Unknown. However it's clear by seeing not only the latest release and commit is from 2021, but also that the roadmap planned for 2022 was never followed. Also even recent issues / PRs have been ignored, even the ones with serious issues such as security vulnerabilities.
